Living with HSD and Chronic Pain

For those of you who don’t know me I’m Kelly. Thanks so much for watching while I share my story and my life with chronic pain. While I have built a good life for myself and like to stay as positive as I can, life with chronic pain certainly hasn’t come without its challenges. I was born with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder and I started dealing with Chronic Pain at the age of 9.

I’ve used yoga to help with my chronic pain and I find so much benefit to the point I went on to complete my yoga teacher training so I can now share this with others. At the time when I started yoga, which was probably 8 years ago, well before I started my yoga teaching training and after many years of people telling me I should for my pain (but I always thought how was that going to help me it really does with my regular practice). I didn’t realise that doctors don’t always recommend yoga for EDS or HSD but I’ve found as long as I have correct alignment with my yoga poses and I don’t try to push myself into poses I’m not strong enough for and that I really listen to my body then yoga is the best thing I can do for my pain for me, so everyone is different but for me, yoga works, so I’ve learnt to listen to my body.
